In the previous article on photography, you all have come to know about, what is photography and also got to know about few types of photography. In this article , we will inform you completely about all the different categories of photography.
  1.    PICTORIAL PHOTOGRAPHY – This is the method of photographic representation that aims primarily the aesthetical emotional and intellectual effect designed and toned rendering while doing pictorial photograph.
Thus pictorialism is an approach which primarily defines the beauty of the subject, tonality and composition. It is an international style that dominated the 19th and the early 20th centuries.

  2.      LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY – A landscape is an inland scenery besides nature’s beauty ranging from hills to plateaus and low lands, fields and hedges; it may include lake, river, and waterfall. When photography done with this landscape setup is called landscape photography. It captures the nature’s beauty, along with man-made features or any type of disturbances in nature.

  3.    MOUNTAIN PHOTOGRAPHY – It is a specific and very adventurous genre which includes two different types of work with a certain amount of common ground. Firstly, photography of mountain is an extension of landscape photography and secondly it is the photography on and from mountain.

  4.    PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY/ PORTRAITURE – It can be one of the most rewarding branches of photography and its highest level and it is probably the most difficult work in which a professional can specialize.
                    Expression on faces are fickle and at time unrepresentative; gestures and attitudes are fleeting and subtale, the portrait photographer must see these things select, reject, emphasize and sum up. The content of the photography is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.

  5.   NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY – Nature photography covers a vast range of photography that are taken outdoors and the main motive of the photographer is to display the versatile beauty of wildlife, wildlife, landscapes, and various natural scenes and texture.

  6.   WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY – It is a type of genre in which documentation is done of the various lifestyle of the wild animals in their natural habitat. Wildlife is not limited to animal, birds and insects but extended to preserved species.

  7.    PHOTO JOURNALISM – It entirely depends upon the informative content and emotional impact, reflecting the human presence in the world, the journalistic (story-telling) value of the image shall receive priority over pictorial quality. It can be documentary and sports. As a journalist uses his pen to express the words, similarly a photojournalist uses his camera to capture the visual representation of the story.

  8.    SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY – It is the photography captured during the sports and athletic event. Furthermore, it is also used to build a brand and to promote a particular type of sport.

  9.   ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY – This type of photography mainly focus on the buildings. This type of photography highlights the architectural vale of any particular structure. Not only, has this type of photography included building but also different bridges and cityscapes included in this photography.

  10. TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY– It is the photography which capture the feeling of a time place and portrays a land, a people, customs or cultural in its natural state. It have no geographical limitation.

 11. ADVERTISEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY/ COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY – It is a branch of professional photography concerned principally with supplying the needs of the sale advertising and display side of the industry. These photographs may not be of very high quality but they must be attractive and eye-appealing which will not only attract the reader to read the advertisement but will also convince the reader to be a consumer of the advertisement.

 12. ABSTRACT PHOTOGRAPHY – The field of photography in which the subject or the surrounding areas strikes and abstractness in the viewer’s mind is called abstract photography. This type of photography mainly based on non-objective, experimental and conceptual which doesn’t include any particular subject.

 13. MONOCHROME PHOTOGRAPHY – Any black and white work toned entirely doesn’t be a monochrome work. The monochrome photography is not only a game of black and white but the photographer’s emotions, vibrant, vibe and inner feelings completely overwhelmed by the picture.

 14. TRADITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY – It is a concept of holding the tradition of each and every community across the world where the photographer will not only capture the moment but also give lives to the picture.

 15. CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY – The type of photography which arises the ultimate creativity through the photographer is creative photography. The main concentration of this type of photography is the creativity of the photographer, the various innovative ideas of the photographer to give the photograph a creative touch and essence.

 16. HUMAN INTEREST PHOTOGRAPHY- The photography which show the human interest and where, the person within the image should be in an interactive emotional or in an unusual situation. The photography should be such that it can visualize the mood of the person and can raise sympathy for the person whoever sees it.

 17. CONCEPTUAL PHOTOGRAPHY – It is a type of photography where the photographer while capturing the moment should have a concept and a clear vision to make that captured moment lively. Each photography must be having something concepts or conceptual ideas such as Hippolyte Bayard's Self Portrait as a Drowned Man (1840).

 18. STREET PHOTOGRAPHY – It is photography clicked for displaying the art that features an random incidents within public places.

 19. LOW LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY – The photography done in low light to capture moments. Shooting in low light means making a choice between the noise of a high ISO setting, and the blur of a slower shutter speed. Sunsets are the most obvious option for a low light photograph with a warm glow. A tripod, flash light and your fastest lens are your biggest friends when doing low light photography.

 20.  ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY –Astrophotography is the type of photography which includes all the various heavenly bodies present in or space. From planets to celestial bodies to stars and constellations in the night sky becomes the centre of attraction in this photography.

 21.   BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY – In this photography the main subject is bird. Bird is the main target for a photographer to capture in their cameras. It is a genre where these avian creatures are captured and it is one of the challenging subject of photography. Certain skills required to capture interesting moments of avian creatures.

 22.   SPECIMEN PHOTOGRAPHY – The photography done to capture the different specimen used in laboratory or in different preserving quarters is called specimen photography.

 23. WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – the photography done to capture the ultimate moments within a wedding ceremony is called wedding photography. It may include portrait photography of the couples before the official wedding day, such as pre-wedding engagement session.
