SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DAY
A nation or a country have its distinct and unique
identity only when it is independent. Moreover, this gives the power to make
and amend decisions for own country. Mahatma Gandhi once said “How can
one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master’s bidding.
He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have
my dead body, nor my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the
victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me do what he wanted done.”
If we don’t get an opportunity to call our
motherland ours, if we if we sacrifice our life under the rule of others in our
own country, if we are slaves in our own country, living under slavery &
submissiveness, we don’t really know how our really country is to us. It is
painful & people did face that.
